Data Research & Business Analyst

Position Description

Sayari is looking for a Data Research & Business Analyst to join our Product team. The person in this role will work closely with our Engineering and Content teams, and will be responsible for researching public records databases, monitoring ongoing public data developments, and supporting data onboarding.

  • Research public records databases for automated collection or purchase
    • Locate foreign government databases and third-party data vendors to identify valuable datasets
    • Track and compare competing dataset options, prices, and features
  • Monitor ongoing developments in the public records & corporate data industry
    • Keep apprised of new public disclosure legislation, establishment of ultimate beneficial owner registries, etc.
    • Track the impact of industry events on Sayari’s data collection strategy & roadmap
    • Get ahead of the news & customer requests by proactively identifying databases for collection & major events, e.g. the Panama Papers release
  • Support data onboarding, QA/QC, and release to customers
    • Work with other teams to message & disseminate information about Sayari’s data holdings
    • Assist with data onboarding, including QA/QC and devising schemas to map large, complex datasets to Sayari’s ontology


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum one year experience conducting complex, open-ended internet research for commercial, academic, or similar purposes
  • Ability to multitask, solve problems creatively, and triage competing priorities
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Nice to Have: 

  • Prior experience at a tech or SaaS company
  • Quantitative business analyst, coding, data science, or related experience
  • Experience with public records, due diligence/commercial intelligence tools, or open source investigative and corporate research
