Sayari Launches BIS50 Signal Module in Response to Anticipated U.S. Export Control Expansion

Sayari launches BIS50 Signal Screening Solution to help organizations prepare for anticipated U.S. export control rule changes.

Sayari, a leading provider of risk intelligence and corporate supply chain transparency, today announced the launch of its BIS50 Signal Screening Solution, which empowers organizations to prepare for anticipated changes to U.S. export control rules. The provided screening file identifies thousands of entities that are majority-owned by companies on the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) Entity List and Military End User (MEU) List.

The BIS50 Signal solution arrives as industry experts anticipate BIS may implement a Majority Ownership rule mirroring the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) 50 Percent Rule.

Currently, the BIS Entity List considers subsidiaries as legally distinct from listed entities. Traditional screening lists do not capture these subsidiaries, creating potential compliance vulnerabilities should the anticipated rule change go into effect.

"Compliance teams can't afford to wait for ownership structures to be uncovered through manual due diligence, they need immediate, actionable intelligence," said Melina Villavicencio, Senior Director of Product at Sayari.

The BIS50 Signal Module leverages Sayari's extensive global corporate database and proven majority ownership algorithms to deliver immediate coverage identifying thousands of entities majority-owned by BIS Entity List and MEU List companies.

Sayari's platform already screens entities against U.S., EU, UK, and other sanctions lists, automatically flagging sanctioned entities and their related companies. The BIS50 module extends this capability to address the anticipated regulatory expansion.

Why This Matters

Traditional compliance approaches – built on periodic screening against static watchlists – cannot keep pace with the speed and complexity of modern trade enforcement. Sayari’s platform uses real trade data and corporate ownership intelligence from 250+ jurisdictions to deliver continuous, proactive risk monitoring that traces beyond tier-1 suppliers to the hidden relationships where risk actually resides.
