GEOGRAPHIC COVERAGE
Where the world model has data
Sayari’s geographic coverage spans 250+ national and subnational jurisdictions – prioritizing the markets most relevant to sanctions compliance, export controls, UFLPA enforcement, and foreign investment screening.
United States & Western Hemisphere
Full coverage of the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, and Peru. All Caribbean jurisdictions including offshore financial centers in the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Bahamas, and Panama.
EU, UK & Offshore Centers
All EU member states plus UK, Switzerland, Norway, and Liechtenstein. Crown dependencies including Jersey, Guernsey, and Isle of Man – key offshore structuring jurisdictions for European corporate networks.
China, SE Asia & Pacific
China (SAMR national and provincial filings), Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and all ASEAN members. Pacific island jurisdictions used for offshore corporate structuring.
MENA, Sub-Saharan & Offshore
UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Israel, Egypt, and key Sub-Saharan markets. Mauritius and Seychelles – the primary offshore vehicles for Africa-linked corporate ownership chains.
Russia, Former Soviet States
Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia – critical for sanctions compliance, energy sector screening, and tracing Russia-linked ownership chains through third-country intermediaries.
Where Others Stop Covering
Sayari specifically prioritizes the jurisdictions used to create ownership opacity – local-language primary source filings from markets that most commercial data providers skip entirely or cover only in summary form.
METHODOLOGY
How Sayari builds and maintains coverage
Coverage quality is determined by how data is collected and maintained – not just how many jurisdictions appear on a list. Sayari ingests primary source data directly, processes it in original language, and resolves entities across sources before exposing any record to users.
01
Primary source ingestion
Sayari collects corporate filings directly from government registries – not from data aggregators or resellers. This means the original language, original structure, and original filing metadata are preserved at ingestion. Where registries provide bulk download or API access, Sayari uses automated pipelines. Where they don’t, Sayari uses direct registry scraping and manual procurement processes.
02
Local-language processing
Registry filings in non-Latin scripts – Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic, Korean, Thai, and others – are processed in their original form before transliteration. This preserves the ability to match records on original-script names, which is critical for detecting entities that appear differently across transliteration schemes.
03
Entity resolution across sources
Individual data sources are resolved against each other to produce unified entity records. A company appearing in a Hong Kong registry, a US trade manifest, and an OFAC sanctions list is represented as a single entity with connections to all three sources – not three separate records requiring manual correlation.
04
Continuous refresh and delta processing
Sayari monitors source registries for changes and processes updates as new filings become available – rather than batch-refreshing on a fixed schedule. New ownership disclosures, director changes, and beneficial ownership amendments are reflected in the world model without requiring a full re-ingestion of existing records.
DATA FRESHNESS
Refresh cadence by source type
Not all data needs to refresh at the same rate. Sayari applies source-appropriate cadences – from real-time sanctions list processing to structured registry batch ingestion.
Sanctions & Denial Lists
OFAC SDN and non-SDN lists, BIS Entity List, State Department debarment, EU consolidated sanctions list, and 35+ national lists are processed within minutes of each official publication update.
Covers: OFAC SDN, OFAC non-SDN, BIS Entity List, State AECA, EU, UN, OFSI, and national-level lists
Corporate Registry Filings
New corporate registrations, beneficial ownership disclosures, director and officer changes, and UBO amendment filings are processed continuously as registries make them available – no fixed lag window.
Covers: 250+ national and subnational corporate registries, BOD and UBO registries
Trade Manifest Data
Global import/export shipment records from trade manifest sources are updated weekly. HS-code level records are linked to Sayari entity records at ingestion – enabling supply chain and export control screening against current ownership data.
Covers: US, EU, LATAM, Asia-Pacific trade manifest filings; 3.8B+ records total
OPAQUE JURISDICTION COVERAGE
Why coverage of opaque markets is the difference.
Compliance programs don’t fail because they miss US or EU entities – they fail because they can’t trace what those entities own in the markets specifically chosen for opacity. Sayari’s coverage advantage is concentrated in exactly these jurisdictions.
China (provincial registries)
National SAMR plus 31 provincial AMR databases – the level at which most UFLPA and XPCC-linked entities are registered, not visible in national search alone.
British Virgin Islands
One of the most common offshore vehicles for Russian, Chinese, and MENA beneficial ownership chains. Sayari covers BVI registry filings with ownership resolution to underlying beneficial owners.
UAE free zones
JAFZA, DIFC, ADGM, and other UAE free zones are preferred structuring vehicles for sanctions evasion and Iran-linked trade. Sayari covers both mainland UAE and free zone filings.
Russia (in local Cyrillic)
EGRUL registry filings processed in original Cyrillic – enabling matching on original-script name forms that transliteration-only approaches miss entirely.
Hong Kong & Macau
Frequently used as intermediary layer between mainland Chinese entities and Western financial systems. Sayari covers HK Companies Registry with ownership chain resolution to mainland registrations.
Central Asian transit states
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and Georgia have become primary re-export and sanctions circumvention routes since 2022. Sayari covers corporate registries in all four jurisdictions.
