Identifying the risks in an entity’s supply chain is immensely complex; oftentimes, the full extent of their transnational trade and corporate relationships is not immediately apparent. The onus to evaluate whether or not to engage with an entity falls on due diligence and compliance practitioners, but a single risk in a company’s beneficial relationships or trade history is usually only a small piece of a broader puzzle linking that risk to the systems surrounding it. In this presentation, C4ADS analysts will use three transnational Myanmar and Russia case studies to elucidate how publicly available information can be used to complement Sayari’s trade and ownership data, allowing investigators to piece together the answers to complex compliance questions.
