is an investigative researcher and with Sayari Labs, focused on Eastern Europe. For more than two years, he worked for the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) in Sarajevo. There he covered corruption and financial crime throughout Eurasia. Prior to that he worked with Internews’ Strengthening Independent Media Project, also in Sarajevo. Benevento specializes in OSINT – with a particular focus on aircraft and vessel tracking – and has extensive experience identifying evidence of financial crime and corrupt practices. At present, Benevento works as a freelance investigative researcher and consultant splitting his time between United States and the Balkans. He speaks Russian and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian.
