About the Briefing

A dedicated forum for those on the front lines of UK economic security

Sayari Illuminate convenes practitioners and senior leaders from across UK Government departments and supporting industry sectors for a community meet-up focused on the frontiers of economic security and national resilience.

Sessions span cross-departmental collaboration, advanced investigative tradecraft, and the deployment of emerging technologies — graph analytics, AI-assisted entity resolution, and continuous monitoring — to protect UK interests against serious organised crime, sanctions evasion, and adversary-state activity in supply chains and critical national infrastructure.

The afternoon closes with informal networking at the Rose Pub — an opportunity for attendees to continue the conversation across departments, missions, and disciplines.

Keynote panels and practitioner-led tradecraft

Government Leadership Panel
Data Insights: The Social Impact of Economic & Organised Crime

An exploration of the downstream human cost of financial crime and how regulators and the private sector are evolving their collaboration to combat the way serious organised crime infiltrates and degrades society. Includes a deep dive on the latest findings from the Chinese Money Laundering White Paper. Featured contributors include Adrian Searle (Director, NECC), Simon York CBE, Rob Williams, and Colby Potter (Sayari).

National Security Briefing
Uncovering Adversarial Influence in UK Supply Chains & Critical National Infrastructure

Adversary-state actors embed risk in UK supply chains and critical national infrastructure through two principal routes: complex corporate structures that obscure who ultimately controls a supplier or CNI asset, and direct material dependencies sourced from adversarial states sitting undetected deep in sub-tiers. This session combines the geopolitical threat picture with a live demonstration of how Sayari automates sub-tier mapping, surfaces Foreign Ownership, Control and Influence (FOCI), and replaces point-in-time assessments with continuous monitoring.

Practitioner Panel
Vendor Vetting in High-Threat Situations

A practitioner-led discussion on the complexities of conducting due diligence in high-risk jurisdictions. How do we maintain supply chain integrity when adversaries are actively obfuscating their footprints — and what tradecraft works when standard KYV approaches fall short?

Innovation Spotlight
Graph AI & the Sayari Pilot

An introduction to the next generation of Sayari investigative tools. See how Graph AI is being used to automate the discovery of hidden links across ownership and trade networks, and get an exclusive look at the Sayari Pilot — a purpose-built environment for rapid, large-scale network illumination.
