2 minute read

Sayari, the leading risk intelligence platform, is proud to announce the appointment of Mike Kuiken to its Advisory Board. Mike’s extensive experience in national security, defense, and strategic policy will strengthen Sayari’s ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions to its government customers.

Mike is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and an Expert Advisor at the Strategic Competitive Studies Project. These roles follow nearly 23 years of service in the U.S. Senate, where he most recently served as National Security Advisor to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. He also serves as a Commissioner on the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission.

“We are honored to have Mike Kuiken join our Advisory Board,” said Sayari COO and Co-Founder Benjamin Power. “Mike’s unparalleled expertise in national security and his deep involvement in some of the most critical policy issues of our time will be invaluable as we continue to expand our solutions for government and enterprise clients. His insights will help us navigate the complexities of global security and economic competition.”

During his distinguished career, Mike was instrumental in crafting and leading the campaign that secured the passage of the CHIPS and Science Act and played a key role in establishing and managing the Senate’s Artificial Intelligence Insight Forums. Before joining Senator Schumer’s team, Kuiken spent more than 12 years as a professional staff member on the Senate Armed Services Committee, where he oversaw a wide range of the U.S. military’s global operations and defense policy.

“Sayari’s breadth of data and innovative approach to risk management is essential for addressing the challenges posed by today’s global security landscape,” said Mike. “I am excited to join the Advisory Board and contribute to the company’s mission of providing actionable intelligence that enhances security and compliance for clients worldwide.”

Mike’s career has placed him on the front lines of virtually every consequential national security policy issue over the past two decades. He has been deeply involved in the U.S. responses to the war on terrorism, conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Arab Spring, and the ongoing strategic competition with China and Russia. His experience also extends to crisis management in cyber events, counterterrorism, and advising on the most pressing global security challenges.

Mike’s appointment contributes to expansion of Sayari’s Advisory Board and is yet another milestone in the company’s growth strategy. In 2024, Sayari accelerated its global expansion, further establishing its second company headquarters in London. Alongside these efforts, Sayari launched Sayari Map, a solution designed to enhance visibility into intricate global supply chains and networks by enabling easy mapping and bulk screening for direct and upstream supplier risks.
